Kaijo Ballroom

The 220-seat ballroom is defined by charred Accoya and cypress wood details. Square chandeliers supported by delicate wood frames are complemented by custom, cymbal-shaped bronze wall sconces. A dark-hued carpet features a custom pattern inspired by tree rings. The ballroom can be divided into four separate rooms and opens up to a patio. Two small meeting rooms, located across from the ballroom, seat 20 people and 6 people, respectively. Small floor-level windows provide a peek into an outdoor rock garden and provide natural light. The entrance to these meeting rooms features charred cypress wood with a linear bronze inlay, nodding to yakisugi (a method of wood preservation using fire) and kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using lacquer mixed with powdered precious metals to create “golden seams.”
