Over ons

Hotel Villa Athena ligt in het archeologisch park van de Vallei der Tempels, dat door de UNESCO tot werelderfgoed is verklaard. Villa Athena ligt op slechts tweehonderd meter van de Tempel van Concordia, een waar meesterwerk van Dorische kunst dat dateert uit de 5e eeuw voor Christus. Hier bevindt zich een Sicilië dat duizenden jaren teruggaat. De recente restauratie van het hotel heeft elke omgeving gerenoveerd, inclusief de kamers en de suites, die uitzicht hebben op de tempels en/of op het park met eeuwenoude olijfbomen. Alle kamers zijn goed uitgerust voor een comfortabel verblijf. Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
