Theodore Roosevelt Island

Theodore Roosevelt Island is a tribute to outdoors man and naturalist Theodore Roosevelt, the USA's 26th president. This 91-acre wooded island sanctuary features a memorial plaza as well as a few trails for exploring wooded uplands, swampy bottomlands, and Potomac River views. The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial

Historical landmark
The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial honors the 184 people whose lives were lost at the Pentagon and on American Airlines Flight 77 on September 11, 2001. Each of the memorial units commemorates the life of one of the victims and is organized by the year the victim was born.

Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima)

Historical landmark
The magnificent memorial was based on an iconic, Pulitzer Prize winning photo of the second flag-raising on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II. Air Force Memorial

Historical landmark
Located on a beautiful hillside vista in Arlington, Virginia, the Air Force Memorial honors the service and heritage of the men and women of the United States Air Force and its heritage organizations. Three stainless steel spires soar into the sky from the promontory reaching a heights of 402 feet above sea-level. The arching design was inspired by the contrails of Air Force Thunderbird aircraft as they peel back in a precision "bomb burst" maneuver.
