Asheville Transit System Asheville Rides Transit (ART) provides bus service in the city and to surrounding areas. The system consists of 18 bus routes, many conveniently originating at the ART Station. Fares for travel are $1 for adults and $.50 for seniors and students between ages 6 and 19. Children ages 5 and under ride free with a fare-paying adult. Eleven ride ticket books are available for $9. Asheville Rides Transit operates Monday through Friday 6 AM to 9:30 PM, Saturday 7 AM to 9:30 PM, and Sunday & Holidays 8:30 AM to 6 PM.
