Known chiefly for its mainland Mayan site of vast importance, Copan, Honduras is full of surprises. While Honduras event venues are found in the capital of Tegucigalpa, which is predominantly a business center, groups in the know choose the Pacific Coast or the tropical island of Roatan - which sits in the Caribbean Sea and is famous for its Garifuna culture - for incentives.
The two largest airports, of approximately equal air lift to North American, in Honduras are the Toncontin International (TGU) in Tegucigalpa, which has direct flights to Atlanta, Miami and Houston, and Ramon Villeda Morales International (SAP), which also flies to those three cities as well as Fort Lauderdale, Newark and New York. An international-class airport also is on Roatan, the Juan Manuel Galvez International (RTB), which has service to the first three aforementioned cities.
