Albury
Sitting close to the main road that links Sydney (350 miles to the northeast) and Melbourne (200 miles to the southwest), Albury overlooks the Murray River and the town of Wodonga on the opposite bank (and works in close collaboration with Wodonga). It is also close to the Great Dividing Range, the longest mountain chain in Australia. Wine is grown here, and Albury MICE venues are sure to offer groups the local vintage. Albury Airport (ABX), three miles to the east of downtown, serves only Sydney and Melbourne but is far quicker than car or the trains that run in both directions twice a day. If one chooses ground transportation, the aforementioned main road, also known as the Hume Highway or the M31, will be the route taken. Chief among MICE venues,
Albury Entertainment Centre has space for receptions of up to 1,000 people; it has 9,000 square feet of meeting space divided into five rooms, plus a 177-seat theater and an 818-seat auditorium, among other spaces. There are no large MICE hotels in Albury, but local hotels include the 140-room
