Vector-borne diseases, transmitted by mosquitoes and other insects, pose a global threat, affecting 80% of the world's population. Malaria, dengue, and other illnesses disproportionately impact impoverished areas, causing high mortality rates and hindering economic development. The World Health Organization recommends interventions like insecticide-treated nets and indoor spraying to combat malaria, but these methods may inadvertently target other disease-transmitting insects (WHO News). I am a public health specialist and a medical doctor by training. Although I was born in Gazira State; I was raised in Khartoum State, the capital of Sudan. I studied Medicine at the University of Medical Sciences and Technology and received a master’s degree in public and tropical health from the same university.
