247 million malaria cases in 84 malaria-endemic countries are estimated in 2021 in the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 15 million cases increased from 2019 to 2021. About half of all cases were from four nations: Nigeria (26.6%), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (12.3%), Uganda (5.1%), and Mozambique (4.1%). Read More

I have been confronted for the first time with malaria when I  was an ICRC medical delegate in Uganda. I experienced myself shivering  and fever but waited for some days before doing something,  which is completely against all medical books, but when you  are sick, you do not behave as you should .… fortunately, a nurse took care of me and did the right thing, thick film and immediate treatment!
